STD Smackdown

The Challenge

It is a fact that 50% of sexually active young people will contract an STD by age 25. The overarching reason for such an alarming statistic? Young people possess many misconceptions about how STDs are contracted and spread. So, in a targeted effort with the Mississippi State Department of Health, MWB tackled the many myths surrounding STDs head-on.

The Solution

MWB developed “STD Smackdown,” creating an anti-hero out of STD himself, to crush the many myths and misconceptions surrounding sexually transmitted diseases. As STD gruffly says, “Smackdown is where we wrestle the myths surrounding STDs to the ground…and step on their sternums until they squeal for mercy!” In the first three months, the social media campaign reached an estimated 1,726,173 people.
