HIV Prevention Campaign – MSDH

The Challenge

In recent years, the incidence of HIV and other STDs has risen rapidly in Mississippi among both the LGBTQ and heterosexual populations. In 2012, the state had the 10th highest rate of HIV diagnosed cases, according to the CDC. And, nationwide, 50 percent of all sexually active young people are estimated to get an STD by the time they’re 25.

The Solution

The Mississippi State Department of Health (MSDH) asked MWB to develop a campaign aimed at reducing these alarming numbers— and effectively communicate the message to 18-25 year olds that they need to get tested and protect themselves. Together, MSDH and MWB developed a campaign and the Your PSH app, which allows users to fight HIV and other STDs in a number of effective ways—including a Risk Tracker, Test Locator and where to find free condoms.
