Last night’s debate was on international affairs. Regardless of your political persuasion, Americans know a lot about Syria, Libya, the Arab Spring, Egypt, China and foreign trade policies.
I was riding to work this morning listening to Psy on my XM radio sing “Eh – Sexy Lady, Oppa is Gangnam style” having just learned that Gangnam in Korea is equivalent to our U.S. Beverly Hills. Its a tiny world, I tell you.
And, for social media, the “access factor” shrinks our world right on our desk top. This should focus our attention even more keenly on our local and regional markets. Social media makes it accessible in ways never before achieved.
The numbers are staggering and it is now we hear the BILLION number applied to facebook and other social marketing tools.
More than 700 BILLION minutes are spent on facebook each month.
1 MILLION accounts are added daily to Twitter.
Pinterest is the fastest growing social media platform to achieve 10 MILLION unique visitors.
Wow. BIG access equates to a small, small world after all.
